You don’t have to take my word for it……

My friend Lisa wrote a blog last week that put into words so many of the things I felt on the road.  She was reflecting on having attended several weddings over the summer and wrote the following:

I find that after the wedding I savor those unique moments where you felt your relationship with that person who you may hardly ever see now rekindled, that moment where the spirit of where you met them and when your relationship existed is fanned into flame and you are so glad to be a part of their special day.  The funny thing about weddings is it collects all the people from different parts of your life and puts them into one place.  After the wedding, those people dissipate back into their corners of the country or world.  But weddings, for me, especially when we play a part in them, are like an extended Facebook interaction.  It’s a chance to peak into the life of a friend as they take a new and significant step in their life, as they enjoy love and celebration.  Like any Facebook interaction, it is a quickly vanishing moment without certainty of future interactions, but it is also an opportunity to reengage friendship face to face and hug to hug and to be grateful that the occasion has brought you together again.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.
